The same thing cannot be said for the hardware involved with performance of the game itself, the CPU/ GPU is a NVIDIA Custom Tegra processor, the performance is comparable to a PS3 and an Xbox 360 combined together, it's definitely a high bar when it comes to mobile gaming, but slowly finishes the bar with modern games, I've played Warframe, Doom Eternal, and even Minecraft Dungeons, they all barely maintained 30fps, docked or undocked.

I think the Nintendo switch is the bare minimum, at a certain point being just below that, every update always reaches the limits of the console's base storage capacity, as the switch can only hold 32GB of base storage, every update there after comes in the form of remasters, and file downgrades, as of recent Warframe hit a close 20GB file size for NS,however that isn't much of a brick wall for the Switch as you easily buy a SD card between 20$-70$ retail, with the high end one's reaching about 512GB, a practical solve.

However I think any ambition in terms of technology has to be tuned back for the sake of performance, that's not to say they cannot design Warframe for lower end specs, they do have a minimum requirement, so that speaks to their ability to get everyone through that hoop even those on a low end, without sacrificing anything, however once in a while they bump up the minimum requirements for running the game, every time it seems to be getting closer to the current gens specs, making them the bare minimum, and at a certain point if all you're working with is crayons and chalk on the drawing board, you will be limited by the tools themselves painting a picture. I believe Warframe will chase this limit, chasing better gameplay and higher graphical fidelity, which they have already, Fortuna, The Jovian Concord, Railjack, and the Deadlock Protocol, however I think for a while they've been held back a little bit on our current console generation, with policies involving storage limits, and last gen hardware, not to the point where any bugs, lackluster updates are the fault of the consoles, I think that was just DE internally, and something they own to as a fault. The next generation of consoles is upon us, the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett are shaping up to be much more powerful machines than their predecessors, hosting custom parts with power comparable to current PC's, as the graphical capacity of these consoles increase, it's likely that the visual and mechanical complexity of games that tag along with these consoles will rush to meet the limit of the console's capabilities.

Disclosure: I am not a programmer, my knowledge of that field is limited, most of what I say runs off conjecture, and my own logic, if you are more adept in this field, and believe you can clarify, or counter play any of my points, I am willing to change my opinion, as I am more interested in the truth.
